Interview Q&A
How long have you been in business?
Studio Crash has been in business for 12 years. Michael Harmon, our head engineer has over 20 years of experience as a professional engineer and producer.
What is your primary product or service?
A fully professional recording studio equipped for the highest quality recording, editing, mixing, and mastering.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I first learned of the recording engineer position as a potential career when researching recording studios and the record production process for the rock band I was in during High School back in 1987.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
# 1. - The people. The top Philadelphia mastering engineer, who critically listens to work from every studio in the area, said Michael Harmon is one of the three best engineers in the Philadelphia area. __________
# 2. - The studio. Since our move, we now have a very large live room with the addition of a separate isolation room and a separate vocal booth. The live room's unusual shape lends itself to a very smooth and sweet ambiance. The studio building not in physical contact with any other building, which is essential for noise free recordings. We also have a large, acoustically designed and highly accurate control room for excellent mixes that will translate to the real world. This control room has extraordinary acoustic isolation from the recording spaces. This is important for getting the best possible sounds during recording.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
One location, but it's a big one! We plan to expand to the second floor above the break-room some time in the future by adding a smaller overdub / mix room.
