How long have you been in business?
Fralinger was organized on December 14, 1914 and participated in the Philadelphia New Year's Parade starting in 1915. We started our next century in 2015!
What is your primary product or service?
We provide a unique, Philadelphia Mummers tradition, featuring colorful costumes, upbeat music, and fun for our clients. We have many photos and videos on our website at fralinger.org.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Fralinger has 150 volunteer members. We are a community-based, non-profit, tax-exempt PA corporation. Our mission is to participate in the annual Philadelphia New Year's Day parade, and educate younger members to become great musicians and performers. The membership live in the tri-state area of PA, NJ and DE. We all share a love of performing, and working as a team to achieve our goals.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Philadelphia Mummery is unique and exiciting. There is no other place on earth that duplicates this type of entertainment and passion. Fralinger is the best of the best, winning first prize in the New Year's Day parade in 10 of the last 13 years, with an unprecedented eight consecutive wins from 2003-2010. We make clients smile, dance and enjoy themselves during the entire period of time we performance.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
Our clubhouse is located at 3rd and Mifflin Streets in South Philadelphia. We have traveled throughout the US, Canada, Europe, and even Hong Kong! We perform in parades, concerts, and private and corporate events of all sizes and requirements.

Cash, checks, and PayPal payments all accepted.
Which areas do you service?
We perform mostly in the Delaware Valley, but we do travel throughout the U.S. and worldwide as required.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
Fralinger String Band, Inc. is a non-profit, tax-exempt (501c3) PA C Corporation; corporate structure is a Board of Trustees and functional Officers and members - Board and Officers are voted by the membership, and all are volunteers. Fralinger String Band has a Business Manager who works with clients on engagements/performances.
What are your hours of operation?
Generally, because we are volunteers who work during business hours, our performances are anywhere from 6-10pm on weekdays, and any time on Saturdays and Sundays.
What is the best compliment anyone can give you?
Fralinger is simply the best in Philadelphia Mummers entertainment and easy to work with. The guests can't stop talking about how much fun they had at the event and will continue remembering for years to come!
